Restorative Dental Services

At T-Town Smiles, we offer a wide variety of services to restore the health of your teeth when things go wrong. Your teeth are important, they are important to your oral health and your self-confidence. People place a lot of demands on their teeth, we need them for the function of chewing, for enhancing our speech, while also wanting them to look clean and beautiful. When decay, breakage, or infection attack, we can help.

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a permanent partial denture. The term bridge is used to describe the device, which consists of two dental crowns placed over anchors with a false tooth between. The anchor can either be a healthy natural tooth or a dental implant. A dental implant is a post that is surgically inserted into the bone to serve as a firm base to support a prosthetic. A dental bridge is beneficial because:

  • Fills the space of a missing tooth, which prevents neighboring teeth from shifting into the space.
  • Helps the patient chew more evenly. When patients only chew on the other side to avoid the missing tooth, it causes uneven wear to the existing teeth.
  • Improves the look of your face, both by helping fill out your facial shape and by no longer having an empty space.

Dental Crown

A dental crown is often referred to as a cap. It is a customized prosthetic designed to match a tooth in size, shape, dentition, and often in color. Dental crowns fully encase the tooth, adding a layer of protection to a tooth that was weakened either through decay, root canal therapy or fracture. We can customize both full crowns and partial crowns known as an inlay or onlay.

Dental Fillings

Repair work with dental fillings is the most common dental restoration, in fact, many people have had restoration work done with filling material. Fillings are used to restore small cavities and to repair teeth that have small chips or fractures.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are quickly becoming the preferred treatment for tooth loss. If you are missing a tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants might be the right solution to restore your smile and confidence.

Dentures and Partials

Dentures and partials are used to restore multiple missing or unhealthy teeth. Patients today have a variety of options including both permanent and removable pieces. With the assistant of dental implants, we can restore missing teeth in conjunction with partials and dentures.

Denture Reline and Rebase

Dentures will occasionally require refitting due to the changes in the supporting bone. Though dentures provide some function unless they are secured to the bone with dental implants, they are not making contact with the bone, and the bone will atrophy and shrink. We can help the denture feel more secure through relining and refitting the base.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is often a phrase that brings fear but it is necessary to save the life of the tooth. We perform a root canal when the inside pulp of the tooth has become infected. We open the tooth to get to the source of the infection, remove it, clean it and close the tooth up. Most patients will require a dental crown to provide added protection to the tooth following the procedure.

Extractions

A dental extraction is a procedure we prefer to perform only when necessary. We will prompt and ask that the patient considers all options before making this decision, it is best to keep your natural teeth when possible. Dental extractions are categorized as both surgical and non-surgical. Non-surgical extractions mean that we can lift and remove the tooth in one piece. Surgical extractions mean that we had to make cuts into the gum tissue to retrieve the entire tooth, the tooth is often quartered and removed in pieces.

Non-Impacted Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom teeth extractions can greatly vary in their ease of removal. We can examine and discuss your wisdom teeth removal, including if they are not impacted, with an examination.
